art & design

In the seventh grade I met a friend who had determined he was an artist. He introduced me to oil painting, and I loved it. To this day the smell of linseed oil makes me feel more creative. I’ve painted a few canvases over the years, but truth be told, I’m not that good of a painter.

In my 30s and 40s I learned that I’m more of a designer. I love working with color, type, shapes, photos and more to create printed and online visuals. For about ten years, I made my living as a freelance designer, and created everything from logos to brochures, websites to storefronts.

Over the years I’ve come to see design and design thinking as the most powerful tools we have to create a better world for everyone.
